We hope you're enjoying a wonderful week! We’re popping into your inbox with a friendly reminder that Parent Observation Week is happening from Monday, November, 16 to Saturday, November 21. You're warmly invited to come into the studio and see your superstar in action!

✨ Please note: Parent Observation Week is for dancers enrolled in our full-year program classes only. 

Drop-in, adult, and sessional programs are not included.

Here’s what to expect:

When you arrive, please come into the studio and find a seat on the chairs set up at the back of the room.

Kindly remove your outdoor shoes before stepping onto our specially designed sprung floors, this helps us keep them in great shape.

Classes will run as usual so you can get a true look at your dancer’s weekly experience.

Parents are welcome to stay for the full class or just a portion. We kindly ask that you avoid coming and going repeatedly during class, as it can be distracting for dancers and teachers alike.

🅿️ Parking Reminder:
Parking can be limited during busy times. You’re welcome to park in any of our marked stalls, along the fence across the way, on the far side of the building, or on Discovery Way street parking.

👨‍👩‍👧 Siblings are welcome!
We just ask that they remain seated with you and refrain from moving around during class time.

🔇 Please silence your phones and avoid talking during class so dancers can stay focused and confident while sharing their progress.

📸 Photos and Videos:
Feel free to take photos or videos of your dancer! If you plan to post any images on social media, please ensure you’ve received consent from any other parents whose children appear in the photo or video. Don’t forget to tag us @dance_directions we’d love to reshare your posts on our stories!

While having an audience is exciting, it can sometimes make dancers a little more chatty or distracted. Our teachers will be working to keep the class focused so your dancer can confidently show you all they’ve been learning.

We’re excited to let you know that Parent Participation Week is coming up at the studio!

During this special week, parents and guardians are invited into the studio space to participate alongside their dancer for the entire class. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience class through your dancer’s eyes, celebrate their progress, and share in the joy of movement together.

How participation will work:

Parents who wish to participate are asked to join from the very beginning of class.

Participation will include warm-up, skill-building, and creative movement, all guided by the teacher.

No dance experience is needed — everything will be accessible and inclusive.

Important participation guidelines:

Participation is completely optional. Dancers are always welcome to take class independently if that feels best for them.

If you choose to participate but need to leave early, that is absolutely okay.

We kindly ask that parents do not enter partway through class, as this can be disruptive and is unsafe without completing the proper warm-up.

Please wear comfortable clothing and either clean indoor shoes, socks or barefeet.

For safety and focus, siblings should remain in the lobby during class time.

Miss Cierra will be popping in when she is available to take photos and videos. Please rest assured that we will not share any videos with out your consent.

For our younger dancers, having a parent participate can be a big confidence boost. For older dancers, it’s a fun way to share what they’ve been learning and connect in a new way. This week is not about performance — it’s about connection, encouragement, and community.

We hope you're having a great week. We are popping in quickly to let you know about a super fun opportunity we have available for current Dance Directions dancers ages 5+. Dancers ages 5+ are invited to participate in the Squamish Holiday Parade on Saturday, November 30th. We had so much fun last year and we can't wait to participate in this community event again. If your dancer is interested in dancing in the parade in downtown Squamish please sign up by filling out the sign up form HERE.

Forms must be submitted no later than November 9th at 8:00pm.

PARADE INFORMATION

Dancers are required to be at practices on the following dates:
Tuesday, November 10 - 3:30pm-4:30pm

Tuesday, November 17 - 3:30pm-4:30pm
Tuesday, November 24 - 3:30pm-4:30pm
Tuesday, December 1 - 3:30pm-4:30pm
Saturday, December 5 - 4:15pm **PARADE DAY**

This will be when the choreography will be learned and practiced to make sure dancers are ready to go for the parade on Saturday, December 5.

- Dancers must be 5 years of age or older to participate.

- Dancers are asked to wear Santa Hats and dress in festive colours and clothes to help spreed holiday cheer. We do have some holiday accessories that we will also lend out to dancers.

- Please dress warmly as the parade will take place regardless of the weather.

- We will have teachers and volunteers as chaperons walking the parade with dancers.

- By signing up with the sign up form this is also a permission form. 

- On parade day dancers are to arrive by 4:15pm ready to perform. The parade starts sharply at 5:00pm.

- If you are interested in volunteering you can do so by logging into your parent portal, selecting register and then Volunteer. From there you'll be able to sign up accordingly.

Hi ,

We hope you're having a start to your week. We have been having so much fun getting ready for this years Holiday parade and can't wait for you to see your superstars in action this coming Saturday, November 30th. As promised here are some additional details to know for this Saturday.

PARADE INFORMATION

- Saturday, December 5 - 4:15pm PARADE DAY

- Drop off location and time: We have been asked to meet on Vancouver St. Between 2nd ave. and Loggers Lane at 4:15pm. You can view the map by clicking the button below.

- Pick up location and time: We will be finishing the parade at Pemberton Ave. We are asking parents meet us at the Shoppers parking lot to pick up their dancers. It usually takes us about 15-20 minutes to complete the parade route from when we start dancing.

- Dancers are asked to wear Santa Hats and dress in festive colours and clothes to help spread holiday cheer. We do have some holiday accessories that we will also lend out to dancers.

- Please dress warmly as the parade will take place regardless of the weather.

- We will have teachers however we are still looking for some more volunteers as chaperons to walk the the parade with us. If you are interested in volunteering you can do so by logging into your parent portal, selecting register and then Volunteer. From there you'll be able to sign up accordingly.

Subject: Interested in Joining Us for (EVENT)?

We're excited to share a special field trip opportunity with our Dance Directions family's!

(EVENT) will be in Vancouver from November through January, and we're looking into organizing a group field trip to see their show on (DATE AND TIME). If we have enough students and parents interested in attending, we'll be able to receive a group discount and have seats reserved together.

Date: Friday, January 8
Showtime: 7:30 PM
Venue: Concord Pacific Place

Estimated Ticket Price: (ESTIMATED PRICE) and ticket fees, with the possibility of an additional group discount.

Please note: Children attending the field trip will need to have a parent or guardian attend with them. Dance Directions staff will also be attending as chaperones; however, staff will not be responsible for directly supervising individual children. Parents or guardians are responsible for the care, behaviour, and safety of their own child throughout the trip. 

We're also looking into whether we can arrange a behind-the-scenes tour for our group. This is not something offered to the general public and would be an exclusive opportunity for our group as part of the field trip. We'll share more information about this as we learn what may be available.

Ticket Orders

Please use the order form below to select the number of adult and student tickets you would like to purchase. This is the official ticket order, so please make sure you are comfortable with the number of tickets you are ordering before submitting the form.
